Ruth & me would like to wish Kyann & Jill much success as they start their trialing

Hendryx, Glen Christensen, Amanda Minor, Travis and Erica Wilson, Kelsi Minor, Connie Gilliland and Jennifer King, Chute

would like to thank each and everyone for supporting the Duckhead Trial. It is truly an honor to work with great people. Please

Well another Expo is in the books. The dog expo starts at 9am with all kinds of demonstrations from Fly Ball, Agility, Doc Diving, and there
is all kinds of breeds there. Ruth even put Curly in the doc diving, but he refused to dive in the water. :) The OSDA does herding demo's at
12 & 4, then at 7pm we have a sheep trial in the small arena. The highlight of the night, for me came, when they ran
Oaktree Karmie in the
Ranch Class and she won the class. This was her first trial, first time under the lights, my point a lot of pressure to put on a 18 month old
pup, and she handled it like a Champ. :)  Owners Bufford & Cindy Barrett and handled by Bufford.
Karmie is by Jack (deceased) and Miss Jewels.

All trials have the potential to become good trials, if you have a great organized supporting cast. At Duckhead I have been so blessed to have family and friends, which has
supported us from the beginning. I would like to honor these folks and no words can be expressed, how much they have done for my trial. My loving family, Lisa, Kelsi,
Landon, Amanda, Dad, Mom; Buckles sponsors: Tom & Ruth Hines; Entries/ running orders/book keeping: Lois & Lyle East; Runners: Hannah, Megan, Tye and Cheyenne;
Time/score keepers: Amanda, Shanna, Bobby Jo, Alexandra, Shayna, Cactus, Kelsi, Jake, Brooke; Chute Helpers: Kody, Tucker, Taylor, David, Toby, Kristie; Cooks:  Lisa,
JK, Kay, Kenda, Stephanie and Handlers and dogs. Special thank you to Dr. Jobe and AJ Malnar for all you help getting the arenas ready. These special folks made Duckhead
so successful.

The weather played a major roll at the trial this year, with rain on Saturday and fog on Sunday morning. We adjusted and work through it. I would like to personally thank each
and everyone that helped and participated. The most encouraging thing at the trial was the new young handlers and new friends I met. Our Novice class was the biggest ever at
Duckhead with 14 handlers on Saturday and 16 on Sunday. This is so exciting to see new handlers and dogs getting involved in trialing and how good they were. They all have
a bright future.

Because of all these great folks we were able to successfully run 165 dogs in two days and I am so thankful for the freedom of God’s grace to allow us to do what we love to
do.

To everyone that came to Duckhead, I am honored that you took the time to come. My family and I thanks you for all very nice complements and I want to personally thank
each and every one of you that came.

Sincerely,

Mike Minor & Family

OAKTREE FALL CLASSIC Sheep Dog Trial
Saturday & Sunday, October 19 & 20, 2013
Bartlesville, OK
Tom and I want to thank everyone that helped to make the 2013 Oaktree Classic a big success.  So many people pitched in to help with setout pens, setting
out the sheep, Danny Shilling for judging, all the folks that scribed,  all the ladies that prepared our wonderful meals, my brother for keeping the fires going.
And all the other unknown things you guys do, just to make everything so nice.  It was a wonderful weekend, nice cool crisp weather and sunshine.  We
especially enjoyed getting to celebrate Tom’s upcoming 60th birthday.  Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes, cards and gifts.  Tom’s birthday cake
was so pretty no one wanted to cut into it to eat.  But when we finally did it tasted as good as it looked J  We especially want to thank all of the folks that
helped sponsor buckles, dog food, and the Novice lanyard.  The buckles are going to be personalized this year, so we didn’t get to give them out at the trial,
but I’ll be taking pictures of them and sending it out as soon as we receive them (hoping by mid-November).  We wouldn’t be able to give out such nice
prizes without the sponsors help!!  So thank you very very much!!

We hope to see you all back again for the Washington County FFA trial November 2 & 3.

Thanks so much!
Tom & Ruth
