Tom & Ruth Hines
Oaktree pups will only be sold to Trial or Working homes.
Things you need to know when buying a puppy from
Oaktree Border Collies:
1. We do not sale by sex, rather my picking order, so the higher up on the list you are, then the better chance
you have to get the sex you want.

2. Delivery of Puppies: Please contact us to discuss all options of getting your puppy to you.
NOTE: Oaktree Border Collies now offers air shipment of puppies. At your expense, we will air ship your
puppy to any place in the Continental United States that American Airlines flies to.

3. At 3 to 6 weeks, all Oaktree puppies are given an overall health exam by our veterinarian.

4.  At 8 weeks, your puppy is fully weaned; has had it's first vaccination and worming; and is ready be
picked up.

5.  Oaktree Border Collies is not responsible for any vet bills the pup may incur once he or she leaves our
kennels.  We only sell clean, healthy puppies or they don't leave our kennels.

6.  A deposit ($150.00) is not mandatory, but it will assure you a better position at selection time.

7. We reserve the right to refuse to sell without any reason given.  Thanks!

UPDATE FROM MONTANA
OAKTREE RYE
@Roper's Jackson x Hed N Heel Katie by Rockin G Rowel
(I will be crossing Cap & Katie this Fall)

Rye is AMAZING! I am so thrilled with her. I started her on sheep, she's already
a big help on the ranch, has tremendous drive and is a ton of fun to work with.
She's shy around people she doesn't know and can be a little protective of me
sometimes. When I picked her out I thought she was pretty homely, she's turned
into a beautiful dog. My family owns a band of commercial whiteface sheep and a
little bunch of blackface sheep. Rye is a confident pup, prefers working alone
and isn't afraid to get in a tight spot. I just don't think I could be happier.

With new pups you're always looking for "signs" that the pup has herding
instincts. I remember the day I picked my Ben dog out of a litter back in
1995. He was but 4-weeks old when I saw him put the Border Collie "eye" on
his mother as she approached. That was enough to tell me he had
possibilities, and I was never disappointed in the 15 years we worked
together.

I had another one of those moments tonight with Tip.  One of our inside
dogs (a Chihuahua by the name of Minnie Mouse) was trotting back to the
house after a potty break. As she came toward the porch Tip crouched down
and gave her the eye. Minnie, who's super fast, put it in high gear
expecting to dash around this uppity pup, but Tip immediately countered.
Minnie then reacted in a flash by zipping in the opposite direction.  And
so they went -- left, right, left right -- all in the blink of an eye
until Minnie gave up and Tip let her walk past.

Bet you know who was grinning from ear-to-ear.

Warm regards,
Gary

OAKTREE DASH
Jackson x Katie
Dash is doing great!!  I just love my little guy, although
he is not so little any more, 41 pounds as of yesterday.
We have had our ups and downs training on stock.  I
said I was looking for more dog, and you have given
me a lot of dog. He has power and is fearless on stock.
We are really starting to come together as a team now.
Dash is making me a better handler.  He has so much
potential, I don't know where the path we are on is
going to lead us but it could be quite an adventure.
