From Tom Hines:
well, the day started dark and cold......with a small group of participants,  Brother Paul Rummage got us kicked off with a devotion on remembering not to loose our focus.
Thanks Bro. Paul, we sure appreciate you coming out.   The FFA concession had hot coffee and homemade cinnamon rolls to get us going.  Sun came out and folks started
shedding layers of clothing.  Turned out to be a pretty nice day.  Sheep were very challenging in the Open and Open Ranch Class.  They sure didn't want to go thru that
first obstacle, it had a blind corner.  But with lots of good dogs and dog handling several nice runs were made!  The Ranch class was our biggest class and it was a close
competition with Josh coming out on top.  I think all had a great time!  We paid out $1,200 in prize money, which was great for a Benefit trial!  Thanks so much to all of our
sponsors who donated cash for the payouts!!  Sponsors were Floyd Overton, Dr. Ruth Thompson, Tony Solow and Tom & Ruth Hines.  I think the hit of the day was
watching Jaycee Baxter in the Beginners Class.  She did awesome!!  Watch out guys, that little girl is going to be one awesome dog handler before we know it!!  Good Job
Jaycee!!
Thanks to all of you that showed up to help support the FFA and 4H.  We don't have a final tally from them yet

From Tom Hines: We had a great trial, and everyone had fun! The weather was beautiful, the sheep were a challenge for dog/handler both. There are so many
people that make this trial a success each year, but I'd like to thank three people. Dr. Bill Fesler for the free use of his ranch & facilities, Floyd Overton for furnishing
the stock, and to Dr. Ruth Thompson for her continued sponsorship. We
had folks from 5 states come to support the kids, and help raise $1300.00. :) THANK YOU!!!

Ruth and me would like to thank Kathy Knox for coming
to put on the Clinic for us, and sharing a bit of her
knowledge, and a few stories with us all!

We would like to thank everyone that came and
participated in the clinic. I hope you all enjoyed it and
picked up a few new things, I know Ruth and me did.
It was very much a laid back clinic, and I felt like Kathy
did a very good job in addressing everyone’s questions.

So again thanks to every one & Kathy.

2011 National Cattle Dog Finals
The United States Border Border Collie Handler's Association (USBCHA) Tenth Annual National Cattledog Finals is excited to
announce the first ever national television broadcast show highlighting the Finals trial. The USBCHA Cattledog Finals will be
shown on September 5, 2011 at 8pm EST
We went, we saw, BUT we did not conquer,BUT w had a great time. We got to see and visit with some old friends from our days
at the LSCDF, and we made some new friends. We had a mixed bag of weather, I think we had everything but snow. With all
that the souvenir I brought home - was a "summer cold". :(  We both hope that we get the chance to compete again, BUT
with a much better outcome next time. :)
We want to Congratulate
Jimmy Walker/ Mitch the 2011 Open Champion, and Jerry Davis/Juanita 2011 Nursery Champion,
and less we forget the
trial host Bob Johnson, and his
crew
for the "outstanding" job they did. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!!
